Ep 28: Why We Lie

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN FROM THIS EPISODE:

  • The problem with telling “harmless” white lies
  • Why you should consider self worth a skill
  • Why you should increase your capacity to ask (and how)
  • A brain exercise to start training your brain for self worth

Have you ever found yourself telling a new friend a white lie, just to keep the conversation going? What about telling yourself a new crush's interest will "grow on you"? These small lies seem harmless, and to other people they are. But for you, I see white lies as a symptom of a bigger problem.

When we're consistently telling white lies or people pleasing our way through life, it's usually because we haven't trained two key skills: our self worth and our capacity to ask. Yes, I consider self worth a skill and believe that you can train your brain to increase your self worth. If you’ve ever had the thought: “Ugh, self worth/love is so nebulous, what am I supposed to do?” this episode is for you. Tune in to learn a new brain exercise for will jump starting your self worth thoughts.
