Ep 5: Other People's Thoughts
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN FROM THIS EPISODE:
Have you ever noticed that pit in your stomach when you hope someone likes you? Or, on the other hand, felt that delightful fuzzy feeling when you think about how someone loves you so much? Here's the wild thing: all of those feelings are caused by YOUR thoughts, NOT the other person's thoughts. And in fact, other people's thoughts have literally nothing to do with you!
Developing empathy and imagining how other people feel is a key skill to living in the world. But because we're high-achievers, we often get a little too good at practicing that unconscious skill, without ever pausing to notice is it's useful or not.
This week on the podcast I want to talk about why we become obsessed with what other people think about us, the effects that has on our life, and what you can do to break out of that thought addiction. Tune in to get clear on your Framework vs. other people's Framework, and how to choose more powerful thoughts.
