Last week I teased you all that I would be teaching one of my favorite tools to move from emotional childhood to emotional adulthood...and here it is! The tool is a process I like to call "Bridging Thoughts."
The idea behind bridging thoughts is that trying to jump from a negative thought to a positive thought is not effective. Your brain will throw up a wall, and often, it can make us feel worse or doubt our ability to change.
Don't lose hope! The key here is pivoting from trying to make a massive leap, to taking baby steps. Bridging thoughts help us work our way from our unintentional thought to our intentional thought in a way that creates lasting belief.
